Meet the congressional candidates. Save the date! Sunday, March 11. See below for details
Republicans have characterized practically every development in the Russia probe as a nothingburger. Now it’s our turn. The Nunes memo has turned out to be the biggest nothingburger of them all. We won’t go into the specifics of why that is—surely, you’ve read them—so let’s just share some “Yo Memo” jokes that are going around the Internet:
- Yo Memo is so dumb it’s co-hosting Fox and Friends.
- Yo Memo is so dumb it’s in line to be the new Energy Secretary.
- Yo Memo is so dumb they renamed it Donald, Jr.
All very dispiriting, but let’s not forget: we will get a chance to vote before long and can change all this. Out with enablers of Donald Trump; in with women and men of integrity, honesty, and brains.
Highlights in this week’s issue
with the return of John Faso
February 19, at 11:00am

News From National
The #ReleaseTheMemo Fake Scandal: Read our resource to learn about the Nunes memo (and Rep. Adam Schiff’s real memo), and use our scripts to call your members of Congress.
Mueller’s Investigation: We’ve updated our resource on the investigation, its importance, and what you need to do if Special Counsel Mueller or Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein are fired. Visit trumpisnotabovethelaw.org to find the latest scenarios and begin planning.
Protecting Dreamers: We’ve updated our Immigrant Ally Toolkit to help you support Dreamers. DACA recipients will begin losing their protections at a rate of 1,200 a day beginning March 5, and Trump and his white supremacist cronies are holding Dreamers hostage to push a radical anti-immigrant agenda. Read our latest toolkit on our website now.
Come meet all 6 democratic candidates vying for CD19. Meet for Q&A with each candidate. Tickets are free, but seating is limited. Get your ticket here to ensure your seat!
January 22, 2018 – February 2, 2018
1/30/18 — HR 695 — Department of Defense Appropriations Act
This bill seeks to establish the defense budget for the fiscal year ending in September, 2018. FASO voted Yea
There were no other votes in the House to report during this time period, but it should be noted that Congressman Faso went on record calling for the release of the Nunes memo, describing its content as “disturbing.”
Congressman Faso was a passenger on the train that crashed on its way to the Republican retreat in Greenbrier, West Virginia; he was uninjured.

Indivisible Profile: Robert Clark
Robert Clark credits his daughter, Jennifer, with his commitment to “demonstrate against Trump and his policies as we do every Friday.” When asked on a recent Faso Friday, what the most important issue is for him, he said, “The sign that I’m holding says ‘Trump is dangerously unfit,’ and to me that is the really the key item. He is dangerous as well as disgraceful, and I’m just living in fear right now that there will be an international episode that Trump will help to instigate that will result in the loss of many lives.”
Bob is a structural engineer who worked on many projects, including the Apollo program in 1965 for Boeing, then moved on to teach structural engineering at Adirondack Community College for twelve years. After a “very satisfying career,” Bob is now retired and lives in Valatie.
